This week the children have been learning about volcanoes. We have made some lovely volcano pictures, creating it with the grass, a volcano and lava, the children then had to use a straw to blow the lava out of the top of the volcano. We have been singing lots of different songs during the week, for rhyme time we used beanbags to throw into the volcano, whilst singing our rhyme and used the scarves to pretend to be the volcano erupting. We have also watched two volcano experiments; the children were fascinated by watching them erupt and have really enjoyed the curriculum this week.

They learnt that a volcano is like a mountain with a hole inside where hot, molten rock called "magma" from deep within the Earth can erupt out as lava, ash, and gases when pressure builds up, creating a fiery explosion; most volcanoes are found along the "Ring of Fire" around the Pacific Ocean.

On Tuesday it was pancake day and the children loved their pancakes with chocolate spread, sugar or jam, we had some very messy faces 🤣🤣 but the children loved them, and we had pancake day three times this week.

On Thursday we had World Book Day and what a brilliant array of costumes we had, the children loved having all their stories read, they also listened to the story and acted out Goldilocks and the Three Bears, they had three different size chairs and beds, then they tried a bowl of porridge for snack.
