Friday Music Sessions with Loraine

We now have a fantastic music session every Friday morning at preschool!

This is an amazing opportunity for the children and will help them to listen and create music, developing their numeracy, literacy and emotional skills. Incorporating music into routines and play in the early years has a positive influence on your child's early development. It can get them moving, thinking and inspire creativity.

Loraine has held sessions for the last couple of weeks and the children have loved it; singing simple songs, tapping out rhythms, and they even remembered all the words to the songs from the week before! They have been super excited to have a little turn with the guitar at the end of the session, so as a reward they get to have a little strum before they go and play.

As this is an external music teacher, parents of the Friday children are paying an additional weekly cost for this. However, we hope to be able to expand on these sessions in the future and arrange another day after Christmas, depending on her availability, to make sure that more children are able to have this fantastic opportunity!
